Artist Takeover

When I am not taking over House of Tales, I am a choreographer, performer and intimacy coordinator working across dance, theatre and film.

My choreographic practice engages with questions of belonging, collectivity and social fragmentation, and artistically negotiates contemporary cultural and social theoretical discourses on resonance and singularisation. In doing so, I aim to contribute to current discourses on community, empathy and artistic responsibility in a present marked by fragmentation.

A favourite tale: My favourite tale is that the inventor of the Segway died by accidentally driving a Segway off a cliff.

I am an Italian-born and Stateside-grown performance artist, dancer, and aerial acrobat based in Berlin. I mix my classically trained techniques with contemporary movement to create unique performances. I can move from clown creature to ethereal nymph and adapt to any audience through my plethora of characters, inspired by the people and places I've experienced throughout my life.

I love to push the boundaries of movement, gender roles, and sexuality in my performances, not only to captivate and wow my audience, but also to encourage them to indulge themselves in the experience.

I am a composer, director, filmmaker and performer working across music, theatre, performance, sound and moving image.

I am interested in awkward social situations, chores becoming choreographies, music without music, audiences watching audiences, staged reality, and moments when everyday life starts to feel strangely theatrical.

I am a theatre-worker, working mainly as dramaturg, director and drama-teacher. Since years and years I am trying to find out what it’s all about, where it came from, this virus, that took grip on me in my early years: yes, it’s a virus, it is and it can be a vehicle and a navigator at the same time. “It is not about something, it is something.”

My favorite story, told by the actress Ursina Lardi in Why Theatre, NTGent’s Golden Book V:

An Australian myth tells of a mountain-sized frog that swallowed the ocean and all the waters of the world. The fish and all the other sea creatures were left wiggling on dry land. All of a sudden, an eel began balancing on the top of its tail, walking up and down in front of the frog with a somewhat desperate dignity until the frog collapsed laughing and spit out all the water.

It describes the transformative power of theatre. We theatre people and the eel are colleagues.

I am a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. My practice moves between dance, performance, improvisation and teaching, with a particular interest in the body as a place of perception, experience and communication. My work is rooted in embodied knowledge, intuition and play. I'm interested in the radical transparency of the present dancing self and in the possibility of revealing and communicating the specifics of each piece through the body. I love the mystery that's so clearly part of dance, while also figuring out how to make some of the intangible tangible in a way that we can actually practice and work through the body beyond the merely physical.

I work as an actress and performer across theatre, film, and dance, and also give workshops in these fields. To me, a stage is wherever bodies can tell a story – as a tool, as a language, as a place where truth sometimes arrives more honestly than any spoken word. My work keeps circling back to love, longing, and the question of who we really are when no one's watching – and sometimes, when everyone is.

I am an actress, working mainly in theatre.

It's close to my heart to reach as many age groups as possible. Alongside child-friendly productions that introduce even the youngest audiences to the magic of theatre, I am also active in comedy, performing shows in the style of the 1920s.

I also host gameshows at House of Tales, where I also work as a gamemaster.

One of my favourite quotes: “No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.” — P. T. Barnum

My favourite tale is about a boy who can fly, has adventures, and refuses to grow up. From the boundless imagination and lightness of childhood to the price of immortality and the necessity of growing up, Peter Pan is a work that has accompanied me my whole life.
